As much I enjoy writing ads, I get a kick out of words in other forms too. Which explains how I’ve come to have a kids’ book series under my belt. Dr. Giraffe is the first book collection to help children deal with illness, using simple rhyme and stories grounded in medical fact.
THE FIRST BOOK SERIES TO HELP CHILDREN COPE WITH ILLNESS
Explaining illness to kids as a parent or carer is never easy. But when the situation arises, Dr Giraffe is here to help. As the first book series that helps children cope with illness, Dr Giraffe books use simple rhyme and illustrations to explain childhood diseases – both common and rare – to young patients and their families.
In an ongoing collaboration with the highly talented illustrator Rejane Dal Bello, I have concepted and written three books (cleft lip and palate, chicken pox, leukaemia) – with more stories to follow. As for our current titles, they have been translated into no less than five languages so far. My GCSE English teacher would be so proud.
